Online games portal Kongregate has named Emily Greer as its new CEO, effective February 28th.
Current incumbent, brother Jim Greer, is stepping down from his role to help launch a not-for-profit political action organisation.
Jim Greer will continue on at the company as head of technology part-time.
“Since founding the company in 2006, Jim has played a key role in growing the Kongregate business and its user base to 18 million strong unique visitors each month,” said GameStop executive VP of strategy Mike Hogan.
“We wish Jim much success as he pursues the next chapter in his career, and we welcome his continued contributions as Kongregate’s chief technology officer.
“With Jim stepping aside, I am pleased to announce that Emily Greer will now take on the executive leadership role at Kongregate. I am confident that Emily’s vision and focused execution and leadership will continue to grow Kongregate’s business through the launching of new and exciting mobile- and browser-based games.”
