It now looks as if Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Torro’s Silent Hills may never emerge from the fog.
Polygon reports that del Torro told an audience at a San Francisco film festival that the game "is not gonna happen". Norman Reedus, who was due to star in the game, later tweeted that he was “super bummed” about the news.
The claims come shortly after Konami revealed that PT, the interactive Silent Hills demo released last autumn, will be removed from PSN on Wednesday (April 29th). Confirmation of this can currently be found on the Silent Hills website.
Whether this is all linked to the ongoing fallout between Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima and Konami remains unknown, although it’s hard to imagine that the events are disconnected. Indeed, Konami even removed references to Kojima from the Silent Hills website.
Metal Gear Solid V and Silent Hills are currently the only confirmed console games in production at Konami. Presumably PES 2016 is also in the works, although it has yet to be officially announced.
