Nicki Sheard to drive game growth

King hires new VP of brand marketing

King has hired BBC Radio’s head of marketing as its new VP of brand marketing.

Nicki Sheard will be responsible for driving the growth of the Candy Crush developer’s new and existing titles.

"We’re delighted to welcome Nicki to the King team," said King chief marketing officer Alex Dale.

"She brings with her an unrivalled track record in growing brands and will play a vital role in building on our already successful games franchises including Candy Crush Saga and Farm Heroes Saga, as well as driving the growth of our newer games titles."

Sheard added: “I am extremely excited to be joining King at this time. It’s a refreshing and innovative company buzzing with talent and creativity and I am looking forward to helping them develop and extend their brands and grow their business.”

As well as being employed at the BBC, Sheard has also previously worked at McKinsey as engagement manager and Procter & Gamble as brand manager.
