Blitz announces landmark tenth game signing; will now sell games direct

Blitz Games Studios has announced that its indie support initiative – known as Blitz 1UP – will add further benefits for aspiring developers by selling newly-signed games direct online.

Launched in 2008, Blitz 1UP is run as an outlet for small, independent teams to bring their titles to market on XBLA, PSN, PC, WiiWare, iPhone and Flash platforms.

The scheme sees Blitz Games Studios sign up new indie titles and offers advice, PR, QA and access to established distribution channels.

“With our heritage as an independent studio we’ve been able to connect with the indie scene and establish a framework for producing a continuous stream of high quality games,” says Chris Swan, Blitz 1UP’s business development director.

Swan’s comments as the Blitz 1UP initiative signs its landmark tenth signing, known as Clover: A Curious Tale, on March 3.

“We also have a number of additional titles already signed up for release over the next few months, so it’s a very exciting time for us,” added Chris. “This next phase of growth will focus on widening our network of publishers and distributors to maximise the potential of our titles. I’m proud to announce that as of today our titles can be purchased directly from Blitz1UP.com, and that this is only just the beginning for us.”
