Trio of games industry veterans join Ogmento team

Key hires for ‘augmented game’ group

Augmented reality gaming startup Ogmento has announced three new executive hires. Rick Ernst is the company’s new lead game designer, Tim Hernandez joins as its director of production, and James Chung becomes its art director.

All three have long experience in the games industry: Ernst at companies including Looking Glass, Pandemic and Sony Online; Hernandez at EA Mobile’s Future Technologies team; and Chung also at EA Mobile, and Infinity Ward.

"We have assembled an amazing team of veterans in the video game industry," says president and chief creative officer Brian Selzer.

"They all understand the unique opportunity ahead of us, and are dedicated to our goal of making innovative AR games a reality."

Ogmento was founded last year, and is working on AR games for platforms including iPhone and Android, but also PC and console.

The company raised $3.5 million in Series A funding in May this year, and has already worked with clients including Penguin Publishing, SAP, Orange and PBS.
