Free-to-play game maker Kabam has opened a new office in South Korea.
The new office in Seoul, South Korea, will initially be home to 11 staff when it opens in April.
Kabam already has a presence in South Korea, but with the aid of the new premises it aims to expand its business in the region with QA, localisation and marketing operations.
It will also be looking to partner with local third-party developers to release title outside of the region, as it has done with some of its existing titles, such as bringing Gong Chen Lue Di to the West with the help of Shanghai’s Game Reign Network.
“Korea is a major center for Kabam’s global expansion,” said Kevin Chou, Kabam co-founder and CEO.
“The Seoul office will help Kabam deliver our world-class games and service to this thriving market.”
When Develop spoke to Kabam last, its studios president, Andrew Sheppard, said its “broader goal is ultimately to have as local a presence in every market as possible”, adding that opening its first European office enabled it to improve its engagement in Europe by ten per cent in just two months.
