'We are very much exploring ways to bring our games to a bigger audience', says Jenova Chen
Journey developer Thatgamecompany is considering moving away from the confines of the PS3, the studio’s co-founder has suggested.
Speaking to Push Square, creative director Jenova Chen said that the developer was looking to bring its games to a larger audience after its exclusivity contract with Sony had expired.
“Thatgamecompany had a three game contract with Sony, so the past three games had to be Sony exclusive,” he said.
“Right now we are very much exploring ways to bring our games to a bigger audience, beyond just PlayStation. We are still in the process of negotiating, but I hope that we can announce it [soon]. But right now it’s still in the process.”
The studio has previously developed games Flow and Flower, the latter of which tasked players with controlling the wind to blow a flower petal through the air.
The developer’s latest title Journey is due for release on PSN on March 14th in Europe, and a day later in North America.
