Mark Gerhard to highlight the benefits of individualism at event's Business Track

Jagex CEO to keynote at Develop Conference

Jagex CEO Mark Gerhard is to keynote the Business Track at July’s Develop Conference.

In his session, titled ‘Jagex’s Indie DNA: How Jagex Did Everything Right by Doing Everything its Own Way’, Gerhard will explain why a proprietary approach to almost every aspect of the Runescape developer’s business has made it one of the UK’s most successful game companies.

Gerhard joined Jagex as CTO in February 2008, before being promoted to CEO at the dawn of 2009. Since then he has guided the company through a period of ongoing growth. At the end of last month Jagex founders Andrew and Paul Gower, who have amassed a fortune of £138 million, were recognised in the Times Rich List as the country’s 483rd wealthiest moneymakers.

The Develop Conference is the UK’s leading industry gathering, and takes place from July 13th to 15th this year. To register, or for more information on the event, which plays host to the Develop Awards, visit the official website.
