US-based iPhone games developer Tapulous has announced that it has become a profitable business turning over $1m a month – proving that small businesses can have big successes on Apple’s handheld.
According to report on Reuters, CEO Bart Decrem revealed its Tap Tap Revenge games have been installed more than 20 million times, with more than 600 million total games played.
Research group comScore said earlier in the year that a third of iPhone users has downloaded a game in the series.
Tap Tap Revenge has been available in a variety of ways, through free, ad-supported and standard versions plus more expensive versions endorsed by famous music artists.
The firm’s sales performance puts it on the cusp of greatness, Tapulous’ boss says.
"It’s going to be big and all of a sudden people are going to say, ‘holy cow, where did those guys come from?’" said CEO Bart Decrem.
