US Vice President to discuss solutions to gun violence with NRA and game and entertainment industry

Industry leaders to meet with Joe Biden

Game industry representatives will meet with US Vice President Joe Biden to discuss solutions to gun violence.

President Obama has tasked his second-in-command with investigating new legislation in the wake of the Sandy Hook school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut.

Biden will meet with pro-gun lobbyist group the NRA as well as representatives of the entertainment industry, reports Reuters.

While most discussion following the massacre has revolved around increased gun legislation and care for the mentally unbalanced, the NRA and other pro-gun advocates have attempted to put the blame on violent media.

This is not the only political event in response to the shootings to adress concerns over violent games.

West Virginia Senator Jay Rockefeller has introduced a bill to congress calling for an investigation of the effects of violent media on children.

A Connecticut town launched a plan to collect and destroy violent games, but has since abandoned the initiative.
