Promising new games put under the eyes of publishers at Paris event

Indie studios will have the chance to receive backing and awards at Game Connection Selected, the event’s organiser has announced.

The ‘Selected Projects’ competition allows developers to pitch their game to a panel of publishers and distributors and have the chance to compete for three awards.

Meanwhile, the ‘Selected Companies’ contest will offer the chance to for CEOs and managers to demonstrate their skills and financial potential of their business to regional and global investors.

The 15 nominees from the projects category and ten from the companies group will “benefit from greatly enhanced exposure to key industry decision makers”, GCE said.

Previous winners of the competitions include Limbo creators Playdead and Bulkypix.

Konami exec Careen Yapp said: “The concept of Selected Projects is fantastic as it helps developers to showcase their creative and innovative designs.

“One of our recent acquisitions, Puddle from Neko, on the PSN and Xbox Live platforms was featured last year.”

The competition will take place on the 6th to 8th December in Paris.
