App Farm, the creator of iCombat, has used a blog post to highlight his belief that free or ‘Lite’ iPhone Apps can have a largely positive effect on the success of games launched on Apple’s platform.
As reported by Mobile Crunch, the post by ‘Zemanta’ on The App Farm blog points to a global conversion rate of almost nine per cent on iCombat.
In laymans’ terms that means somewhere near one-in-10 customers who download the trial version commit to purchasing the full game.
"After a month live in the App Store, the evidence for doing a lite version is compelling proof for anyone looking to launch an app on a small marketing budget," reads the post, which also offers a guide to lessons learned in the development of iCombat.
