Dev platform sees surge in interest as tech adopts 3D support
Middleware outfit Ludei has pulled in more than 5,000 developers to create games on its HTML5 game engine.
The tech enables developers to create, test and distribute HTML5 titles across mobile and web platforms such as iOS, Android, Chrome, Firefox and Tizen.
The company also recently added 3D support via the open WebGL standardto the Ludei game engine.
To date nearly 400 games have harnessed the development platform since its release five months ago.
“There’s still skepticism out there about whether HTML5 is ready for game development, but the developers on the Ludei Platform are proof that its time has come,” said Ludei CEO Eneko Knorr.
“Our developers are publishing high-performance games with full native features including in-app payments, social and ad networks to every popular mobile and Web marketplace from a single HTML5 codebase.”
