Experienced programmer steps up as new development director

High Voltage promotes Glueck as firm goes multiplat

Chicago-based developer High Voltage Software has promoted Anthony Glueck as its new development director.

Glueck assumes the role of developer director and will now manage the studio’s programming department and Advanced Technology Group.

The news follows the studio’s apparent shuffle towards multiplatform development after finishing Wii title The Conduit.

In August High Voltage has paid for a lifetime license to use Terminal Reality’s Infernal Engine, a scalable multiplatform engine. The group also secured an unlimited licence to use Audiokinetic’s Wwise audio solution.

But the studio has not likely licensed the Infernal Engine for Wii development – its own in-house Quantum 3 engine is currently being used for various Wii projects.

It is unconfirmed if Glueck’s new responsibilities come as part of the Chicago studio’s new focus.

“I have worked side by side with Anthony for years,” said High Voltage chief creative officer Eric Nofsinger.

“His experience, attention to detail, and management skills make him ideal to fill this position and help us advance our goals of creating the uppermost quality games.”
