GMA 2012: The finalists in full

After weeks of intense lobbying, MCV can reveal the finalists of this year’s Games Media Awards – over 30 writers, plus more than 50 online and print publications, are in the running.

The winners will be voted for by a 200-strong judging panel, comprising members of the media and industry PRs, with the winners named on Thursday October 18th at Vinopolis, near Borough Market. Russell Kane will be the host for the evening.

No finalists for the prestigious Games Writer of the Year award are being announced, with all submissions for this category being judged by award-winning author and journalist Tim Lott.

Gold Partners supporting the event include Xbox 360, Need For Speed Most Wanted, PlayStation, Nintendo, Codemasters Racing, Metal Gear Rising Revengeance and OnLive.

Deep Silver has signed up as Media Transport Partner, Trion is sponsoring the Pre-Drinks Party and Gamescom is Event Partner. Green Man Gaming is sponsoring the Top Tweeter category, with Precise sponsoring Coverage by a Mainstream Website. Meanwhile, Sega is backing the Games Writer of the Year award.

350 guests will attend this year’s ceremony, including 200 media. A limited number of trade tickets are available at 150 each. Contact Kathryn.Humphrey@ intentmedia.co.uk to book.

A limited number of further partnership opportunities are available. To find out more contact caroline@indigopearl.com.
