Developer behind Star Wars and X-Men games seeking new titles to publish

Gigataur enters mobile publishing

Canada-based mobile games developer Gigataur has launched a new publishing arm, and is actively seeking new titles to bring to market.

The company is best known for developing Star Wars Rebels: Recon Missions and The Uncanny X-Men: Days of Future Past, and will now draw on everything it has learned from those games to help other studios find success on mobile devices.

The company also has several international offices, and hopes to help devs tap into key markets such as China.

Gigataur has hired Michael Hengst (pictured) as part of the new venture, who takes up the role of developer relations manager for Europe. He has 30 years of experience in the games industry, and is currently coaching several indie developers and is a consultant at one of Germany’s biggest tech investment companies.

“I am delighted to be working with Gigataur and helping them source the best games being made in Europe,” he said. “We are all keen gamers so understand what kind of games are going to appeal to an international audience, especially massive markets such as China.

“We are also interested in revisiting mobile games that may have already been released but didn’t perform as well as expected.”

Mobile developers interesting in finding out more should contact Hengst via michael.hengst@gigataur.com.
