Engine update based on 'new and unique algorithm'

GDC: TriOviz releases version 3.0 of SDK

TriOviz has released version 3.0 of its software development SDK, the company has announced.

TriOviz for Games is based on 2D + depth process that its creators say enables smooth stereoscopic 3D displaying. The tech also looks to leverage existing depth buffers to “enhance” the gaming experience from 2D to 3D.

Built in a new and unique algorithm from previous versions, the company also claims it works a two milliseconds post-process speed. Users can use the SDK across platforms such PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.

"This new version of our software development kit creates a real rupture with existing stereoscopic 3D middleware,” said TriOviz president Christophe Brossier.

“We’re proud of this new milestone in our company’s progress. More importantly, we never lose sight of our mission to give gamers the possibility to experience their favourite games in 3D, whether they are playing at home on a PC or console.”
