Havok reports that its recent expansion into Asia has spurred a 47 per cent growth in sales in the region over the past year.
The firm partially attributes this increase to its Tokyo office, which is focused on serving Asia’s development community and providing customer support.
They also believe sales growth in Asia will pave the way for widespread adoption of its products in the area over the next two years.
Havok’s tools, which include Havok Physics, Animation, Behavior, Desruction and AI, are featured in almost 270 titles. The company recently added NCsoft Korea to its publisher and developer partners.
The studio notes that its Intel-funded, binary-only versions of Havok Physics, Animation and Content Tools for PC have enjoyed a surge of downloads recently, with 30 percent occurring in the last three months alone. One in eight of these downloads come directly from Asia.
Havok adds that its Tokyo office plans further expansion and localization initiatives for 2010, designed to ‘demonstrate the strength of he company’s commitment to is Japanese, Korean, and Chinese development communities.’
"Our recent successes in the Asian market can be accredited to the high rate of adoption of Havok’s highly advanced productivity tools and technology solutions by the skilled developers in Japan, Korea, and recently, China," says Havok’s Managing Director David O’Meara.
