Effects middleware provider's new deal streamlines workflow for SCM users

Particle Fork has secured a deal with Perforce that will see the two company's tech offerings integrated, allowing developers to streamline workflow and data assets management.

Fork's particle effects middleware SDK is designed to provide artists with a time efficient solution; a benefit that should be amplified by the new integration with  Perforce's popular Configuration Management System, which is built around a scalable client/server architecture, and used by 150 developers, including EA, Sony Online Entertainment, Nintendo, and Ubisoft.

"Now game developers and artists who choose to use Perforce and Fork Particle can manage their digital assets right from their effects production environment,” said John Walker, partner and integrations manager at Fork.

"Our customers value the ability to customise their development environments with various tools and Fork Particle now offers another seamless option."

Users of Fork Particle who take advantage of the new integration will be able to check-in and check-out digital assets stored in the Perforce repository directly through from Fork Particle Studio's effects editor. As well as streamlining the particle effects pipeline, the SDK also caters for real-time simulation of effects in-game.

“Perforce is a highly reliable and powerful software configuration management system," stated Fork's founder and CEO Noor Khawaja. "We are excited to have the integration with Perforce because it makes managing digital assets more efficient and gives the user a simpler workflow. All in all we are committed to provide our users with the best tools so that they can create their best particle effects.”
