GDC Europe 2013 will be held in conjunction with Gamescom, and will take place at the Congress-Centrum Ost Koelnmesse in the centrally located city of Cologne, Germany, from August 19th to the 21st.

Within the full lineup of targeted presentations in five main tracks and three summits, GDC Europe will host talks featuring Apple Design Award winners BADLAND and Ridiculous Fishing, an Oculus Rift session and expo floor demo, and a presentation on the making of ‘Child of Light’ by Patrick Plourde of Ubisoft.

Oculus founder Palmer Luckey and VP of product Nate Mitchell will discuss the opportunities and challenges facing game development for virtual reality, while Vlambeer’s Rami Ismail and Jan Willem Nijam will offer an insight into the development of hit title Ridiculous Fishing, and how to deal with sensitive subjects such as cloning or in-app purchases.
