Qualifying expenditure on single project must total between £2,000 to £10,000

GamesLab reimbursing West Midlands devs 50% of hardware and software costs

Creative England’s GamesLab is enabling developers in the West Midlands to claim back 50 per cent of hardware, software and service costs through a new support scheme.

The grant is available to projects currently in development. The total cost of qualifying purchases must total between £2,000 to £10,000.

Developers who apply for the scheme can then be reimbursed for £1,000 to £5,000. Studios who apply will first need approval from Creative England.

“The West Midlands has an incredible amount of games studios in the area, and we’re keen to support this impressive regional growth," said Creative England head of games and digital media Jaspal Sohal.

"By offering a straightforward grant to the companies we’re hoping it’ll ease the financial pressure for these SME’s and assist them in taking their game to market.”
