YoYo Games' development platform now supports mobile Linux OS

GameMaker gets Tizen module

GameMaker: Studio will now support development for the Tizen mobile Linux platform.

Tizen resides within the Linux Foundation and provides an open source standards-based platform for smartphones, tablets, smart TVs, and netbooks.

YoYo Games’ Game Maker: Studio provides developers with an easy tool to quickly prototype and create multiplatform games.

"We strongly believe that Tizen will be a significant platform for mobile and other devices and we’re keen to show our early commitment to the platform," said YoYo Games CEO Sandy Duncan.

"The most exciting to us is the range of cross platform devices that will be embraced including in-car entertainment and Smart TV as well as smart phones and tablets."

The Tizen module will be available later in 2013, but attendees of the Tizen Developers Conference in San Francisco, which will take place from May 22nd to the 24th, can grab an early demo.

Those who already own a copy of GameMaker: Studio "Professional" or "Master Collection" also have access to the free beta.
