Submissions for workshops and presentations now accepted for 2011 event

Game Connection opens call for speakers

The organiser of Game Connection Europe has opened the call for speakers for the 2011 iteration of the popular networking conference.

Industry professionals are encouraged to submit proposals for sessions and workshops covering programming, game design, graphics, production or business for the conference, which takes place in from December 6th to 8th in Paris.

Applicants wishing to lead sessions have until August 8th to deliver their submissions to a selection committee, and will, according to a statement to the press: ‘be required to demonstrate their experience and deliver a high calibre proposal in one of the eligible areas’.

Chosen candidates must present their presentations in one of two formats; a 60-minute session followed by an additional hour of workshop time to discuss and share ideas, or an intensive one or two-day training class for small working groups of 12-to-20 people.

As well as offering a wealth of sessions across its various tracks, Game Connection Europe also grants attendees access to its long-standing networking element, which operates through a business meeting system designed to maximise meeting potential while simplifying the process of scheduling.

The 2011 conference, which will this year be divided into two distinct areas covering business and training respectively, is being organised with a new emphasis on content in mind.

"What we’re aiming to do is simple; it’s about responding to the daily issues faced by people involved in the creation of games," said Pierre Carde of Game Connection. "We want our delegates to leave with new best practices, knowledge, ideas and know-how that they can apply directly in their daily working lives. This is why we’re very excited to be inviting the industry’s finest to join us on this new adventure."

Those looking to submit session proposals will find an application form here.
