Elite: Dangerous studio working on two new projects

Frontier game jam sparks £3.75m development contracts

Frontier Developments has sealed two deals to make new games with a global publisher for a combined value of £3.75m.

The contracts emerged from the company’s internal game jam, a scheme it calls the Game of the Week incubation programme.

Funding for the projects will be earned as the studio hits specific development milestones through to May 31st 2015.

The new titles will be built using the company’s own proprietary Cobra tech.

"Frontier’s reputation for innovative design, high quality and timely delivery creates regular opportunities for us to partner with some of the largest and very best companies in our industry," said Frontier CEO David Braben.

“These contracts acknowledge Frontier’s qualities and add two exciting new games to our project roster, both of which were ideas generated through our company-wide ‘Game of the Week’ incubation programme.

“In addition, they demonstrate the ongoing commitment to working with strategic publishing partners that forms an important part of our plan for the Company’s continued development."
