Former Xbox head, Phil Harrison invests in Dream Reality Interactive

Former corporate vice president of Microsoft, Phil Harrison, has invested in Dream Reality Interactive (dRi), the company announced.

The recent closure of a round of investment revealed that along with marketing company, Mother, Harrison invested in the studio, headed up by the former head of Sony London Studio, Dave Ranyard. “I invested in dRi because the team is fantastic and the AR/VR sector is one of the most exciting frontiers in technology today,” Harrison said in a statement.

He brings a great deal of experience in the gaming sector having experience at Microsoft, Atari and being an integral part of the launch and support of the Sony PlayStation for over a decade. "We are really excited by the space where AR, VR and AI meet and can see amazing opportunities for new levels of immersion and human interaction," added Dream Reality Interactive’s Dave Ranyard. "Having backing from two successful and insightful investors enables us to accelerate our ambitions and is a huge validation of the talented team we have put together.”

The other publically announced investor, Mother, is an independent creative company specialising in advertising, marketing and product management for over 20 years. "The team that Dave has assembled at dRi represent a brilliant and fundamental part of the future shape of marketing -with the skills to harness emerging technologies and supercharge the potential of brand storytelling." said global CEO of Mother, Michael Wall."
