The games industry vetran joins as an executive producer at the studio
Jim Woods, an industry veteran who has held several managerial roles at many studios, is joining Supermassive Games as an executive producer.
Woods, who was formerly at Sega as the director of development services, joins the studio as they prepare to release new titles this year. The PSVR exclusives Bravo Team and The Inpatient, and PlayLink game Hidden Agenda were all announced at E3 and given a 2017 release date.
The studio has not clarified if there will be a specific project that Woods would be working on.
“I'm looking forward to working with Supermassive's hugely talented team" Woods told Develop. "Their focus on cinematic adventure and VR innovation has won them numerous accolades over the years and I’m delighted to join at this exciting time.”
Woods has been in the industry since the late 1980s and has held positions at various studios. He was a development director at DMA Design for the early Grand Theft Auto games, was head of studio at Codemasters for Colin McRae Rally 5 and studio director for Sega's Brisbane-based development studio.
“We’re delighted to welcome Jim to the leadership team at Supermassive," said managing director of Supermassive Games, Pete Samuels. "His significant experience in multiple senior roles, spanning four decades in the games industry, will be invaluable as we enter an exciting time of growth for the studio.”
