Former Havok vice president of worldwide sales Mike Walsh has taken a new position as CEO of AI specialist xaitment.
Walsh’s appointment comes as part of a new drive by xaitment to expand its global reach, focusing on both the Americas and Asia.
xaitment’s previous CEO, Dr. Andreas Gerber, has now taken a newly created COO position at the company, which is behind various technologies such as xaitMap Creator and xaitMove² Creator.
“I am really honored to be joining xaitment at such an important time in the company’s evolution,” said Walsh of his appointment at the Germany-headquartered company. “xaitment’s products are unique in their modularity and their ability to add incredibly realistic behaviors to non-player characters. We have signed up some really exceptional console developers in Europe, North America and Asia, and we are looking forward to adding to our growing list of satisfied customers.”
Walsh, who has previously helped restructure and grow several sales organisations, brings with him 16 years of experience in the video game and technology sectors.
The former Havok executive’s new role will see him contribute his sales and business management experience, as he strives to ensure xaitment’s continued success in Europe, as well its expansion efforts in the American and Asian markets. Walsh will work from the company’s San Francisco office.
“We are thrilled that Mike has decided to join xaitment," said Gerber. "Mike’s impressive long-term experience, skills and deep industry knowledge are a perfect fit as we focus on expanding our business into new geographic and technological areas. We are confident that Mike has what it takes to lead xaitment and drive its strategic global growth.”
