Innogames confident Gerhard Florin can help company grow

Gerhard Florin, one of several high profile directors to have resigned from EA since March, has emerged as chairman of browser games firm Innogames.

Recent directors and bosses to leave the Battlefield publisher include Jeff Karp and John Schappert who now work at Zynga.

Florin previously worked as executive vice president at Electronic Arts and was responsible for sales, marketing and distribution across Western Europe.

Innogames plans to explore business opportunities across Europe, UK and US with the help of Florin.

“We are confident that Gerhard’s expertise and contacts will help us continue to grow,” said Innogames founder Michael Zillmer.

Florin says he is looking forward to working with the studio and feels it has a “strong market position, especially due to its unique browser based games targeted towards high monetizable core gamers.”

The studio has developed online games such as Tribal Wars, The West and Grepolis, and last year founded subsidiary company Innogames Korea.
