3D app modo to be made available to students and in-house studio

Florida State University partners with Luxology

Florida State University has formed a partnership with 3D firm Luxology to provide its Media Production Program students and staff at the in-house production facility Seminole Productions with discounted copies of modo.

As the first institution to join Luxology’s Education Provider Program, Florida State will get access to academic pricing for modo, a year’s worth of free updates to the software, reduced price training materials and technical support for ‘select academic projects’.

"Our experience with Luxology has been a very positive one,” said Robert Levine, director of production support for the Media Production Program and Seminole Productions at Florida State University.

“modo’s well-rounded feature set and ability to play well with our existing 3D applications and graphics programs make it a valuable tool for our students and staff."

Luxology’s sales director Immanuel Martin added: "Luxology’s Education Provider Program is about making it easy for students and faculty to have ready access to modo, whether they use a Mac or PC, or are in the lab or in a dorm room. This is 3D breaking out of the classroom; use it wherever you need it."
