$100 prize pool bonus in 2010 for highest-grossing Flash games

Flash portal offers $50k for next best-seller

Flash portal operator 3RD Sense is offering a small number of developers significant bonus packages based on the success of their games.

In what the firm is calling ‘Biggest Game of 2010 Competition’, the owners of the Fizzy.com flash portal will give $50,000 to a developer who builds the highest-grossing game of 2010. Another $50,000 will be given to three runners-up.

3RD Sense pays its developers in parts, typically by every thousand plays of their games submitted through the Fizzy Games Developer Network (GDN).

The firm’s own in-house built games will be excluded from the competition, and external Flash developers keep their own IP and aren’t tied down to exclusivity deals.

“Fizzy.com is offering developers the chance to compete for the biggest cash prize ever offered for a Flash games developer competition,” the group said.

“The Fizzy GDN and the Biggest Game of 2010 Competition will provide developers with the tools and inspiration to produce creative and commercially successful Flash games.”

Full terms and conditions can be found on the firm’s website.
