New talks to discuss user experience, moving from triple-A to free-to-play and player psychology
The first round of speakers for this year's F2P Summit have been announced.
Game Analytics founder Mark Robinson will be at the event for his talk “Using segmentation to really understand your players”, and will look at the techniques and approaches that help publishers and developers understand user experience.
Gamesbrief’s Nicholas Lovell will also discuss how developers can make the transition from triple-A to free-to-play, highlighting the ten common mistakes game creators make, and how to fix them.
Lastly, Cyberpsychologist founder Bern Good will look at the psychology of free-to-play, and how a player perceives microtransactions.
“When we launched F2P Summit in March 2012, free to play was still a relatively new buzzword in the games industry surrounded by a fair bit of mystery,” said Tandem Events MD Andy Lane.
“Two years on and the market has matured to such a degree that F2P is arguably the default business model these days and we have the likes of EA announcing that F2P will be included in all of its franchises moving forward.
“So, as a game developer, it's now crucial to understand and be up to speed with what makes players tick and to know how to use that information to the max, which is what makes the F2P Summit an unmissable opportunity.”
The F2P Summit will take place on October 10th at RichMix in London.
