Think Servicesâ?? prominent awards night gets its biggest draw yet

Competition finalists have been announced for the twelfth annual Independent Games Festival awards, with the contest itself receiving an unprecedented number of entries this year.

An expert panel of around 150 industry members carefully sieved through a record-setting 306 entries, with the remaining finalists all vying for a slice of fame and a prize pot nearly hitting the $50,000 mark.

IGF winners have previously included the likes of music-racer Audiosurf, 2D Boy’s World of Goo and PSN title Everyday Shooter.

No single game has dominated the categories this year, with only a handful of indies receiving nominations in more than one category.

The awards will be handed out on March 11 as part of the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco.
