Serious Business staff to transfer to Zynga offices

Fast-growing Zynga buys social game firm

Farmville developer Zynga has acquired fellow Facebook game studio Serious Business, in a move that accelerates social game group’s rapid expansion.

San Francisco-based Zynga – which despite rumours still remains a privately listed company – decided against revealing financial terms of the buyout.

“We’re very excited to gain an experienced team that is committed to building social games," said Zynga COO Vish Makhijani.

As part of the deal, Serious Business staff will transfer to join Zynga at the company’s headquarters in San Francisco. It is not known if all developers will transfer over.

"We are impressed with Serious Business’ entrepreneurial attitude, speed, and innovation in developing social games and welcome them to our team," added Makhijani.
