The UK’s Falcus brothers, founders of the now-defunct Atomic Planet, have officially opened their new studio after months in stealth mode with the launch of their debut game.
With a new focus on casual titles, the team has launched Empire Builder: Ancient Egypt, which is available today via portal giant Big Fish Games.
The management game puts players in the role of growing the Egyptian empire.
The game is published by US firm Merscom which has signed the first-pass exclusive rights to Big Fish.
Iguana Entertainment was reformed after the brothers’ Atomic Planet studio went into administration earlier this year.
Previously, Falcus brothers Jason and Darren ran Iguana UK for Acclaim – but left to form Middlesbrough-based Atomic.
In a statement the studio said it will ‘develop a number of other titles for this exciting and growing market’.
MD Darren Falcus added: “This has been a very interesting project for us. Everyone here loves casual games, so we’ve all been getting involved in it and we’re keen to work on more.
“In addition to other upcoming releases on Nintendo Wii, DS, Sony PSP and the iPhone, we are looking forward to an exciting period ahead for the studio.”
