Former Zynga marketing chief Jeff Karp has joined multimedia entertainment company GSN, just two weeks after quitting the social games giant.
Karp joins the US company as executive vice president of mobile and social games, and will report to GSN Digital boss Peter Blacklow.
The ex-Zynga and EA exec will also be responsible for overseeing GSN Digital’s virtual currency business across its mobile, social and online gaming platforms.
GSN is a multimedia entertainment firm that offers games to more than 70 million subscribers of its online games and television network.
Karp will join the company’s San Francisco office on September 24th, two days after he officially leaves Zynga where he has been working in a non-officer capacity since announcing his resignation.
“Jeff will be leading businesses which are crucial to continuing GSN’s growth,” said GSN CEO David Goldhill.
“With his demonstrated expertise and strategic vision, Jeff is the right executive to lead us in achieving our ambitious goals.”
Karp added: “I am very excited to join the GSN team, which has already built leading cross-platform virtual currency game businesses, including the GSN Casino mobile app, the Games by GSN Facebook app and the virtual casino.
“I am eager to help GSN take these businesses to new levels of success.”
