Graeme Ankers heads up new company staffing 20 employees

Ex-Studio Liverpool developers open Firesprite

Former Studio Liverpool and Wipeout developers have opened a new studio called Firesprite.

As reported by IGN, the new company is led by MD Graeme Ankers, and it has already been at work developing Sony’s Studio Japan with work on PS4 title The Playroom.

The developer has already built a team of 20 staff, 15 of which previously worked at the now defunct Studio Liverpool.

“Firesprite came about organically, but we all had a shared vision,” said Ankers.

“The founding team met up socially after Studio Liverpool and we talked about all the things we had achieved over the years, the platform launches, the variety of games, going back to the Psygnosis days and through to F1 and Wipeout. We knew we wanted to carry on making great games.”
