Eutechnyx hires ex-NASCAR game boss

Former EA Director Ed Martin has ended his five-year hiatus from the videogame industry in joining indie studio Eutechnyx.

Martin has become executive vice president based out in the firm’s North American offices, having left Stoneacre Partners at the end of last year.

At Stonecare Martin was working closely in the NASCAR racing circuit, and his prior role at EA was for three years centred on the popular racing franchise.

"When it comes to American racing games, Ed Martin is the man," says Eutechnyx COO Darren Jobling.

"His experience and enthusiasm for the sport of competitive racing are absolutely second-to-none, and he’s going to be an invaluable asset to Eutechnyx as we enter into our most exciting year yet.

Martin praised Eutechnyx’s “passion and independence” is a unique quality in the game industry.

"But this is the heritage of every great gaming company out there, and to me, the core of producing great games and being a great company. I’m thrilled to become part of that team in what will no doubt be a defining year in our history."

Eutechnyx is keeping schtum about its next title, though will unveil it in May.
