New 'social hunting' title will unite Swedish studio's next-gen engine with ambitious UK firm's social gaming platform

Ambitious new UK company Emote has formed a new partnership with Swedish studio Avalanche (developer of Just Cause) to build a new 'social hunting game'.

The deal covers both business and technology. Avalanche and Emote have formed a joint venture, described by the two as "more transparent than compared with traditional Publisher/Developer models".

Within that, production of the game itself brings together Emote's Participate games platform and Avalanche's proprietary engine (pictured powering Just Cause 2) 'to create a unique cross-format socially-enabled game'.

The Emote platform aims to provide a new kind of gameplay experience that stretches beyond a standard game client and add a suite of game-specific social networking features which unite the game itself and any community built around it.

The game is set to launch in Q3 with further games using Emote's technology to be announced later this year.

"Were very excited about this partnership with Emote Games." said Christofer Sundberg, Avalanche's founder & creative director.

"The Participate platform opens the door to a new level of gaming which offers a deeper and more enhanced game experience. The Avalanche technology complements this new genre of gaming by combining the social gaming attributes of Participate with our real world landscape architecture to create an amazing life like social gaming experience".
