Takeyasu Sawaki scoops up rights to develop prequel and sequel to 2011 title
The director behind stylistic action game El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron has acquired the rights from Ignition Entertainment to develop new titles based on the IP.
As reported by Gematsu, the IP is now owned by Takeyasu Sawaki’s studio Crim, which was formed in 2007.
The deal includes rights for a prequel, sequel “and all other derivative rights of the existing game”.
In a statement, Crim said it would “work with the entertainment industry to develop a potential El Shaddai business moving forward”.
Developed by Ignition Tokyo, El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron was released in 2011 on Xbox 360 and PS3, and garnered an average rating of 78 on Metacritic.
