Partnership sees friend status granted to technology and arts body

Edinburgh scores NESTA backing

NESTA has signed up as a Friend of the Edinburgh Interactive Festival.

The science, technology and arts body recently launched the ‘Raise the Game’ initiative, which has four functions: to team up small studios with business experts to help growth, to help small studios find talented recruits and cross-industry job swaps, nurture new talent with intern places, and to provide ‘innovation labs’ attempting to make new collaborations and cross-platform content.

"We are delighted to have been invited to this year’s event to unveil Raise the Game, which is seeking to provide a means by which the industry can work together and draw from the enormous amount of creative talent currently available," said Jon Kingsbury, director of Creative Economy Programme with NESTA.

"This new programme will be instrumental in fostering creativity and building relationships throughout the games industry and beyond to ensure the innovation and growth capacities of UK companies are harnessed."

EIF 2008 takes place between August 10th and the 12th. For more information, visit the event website.
