New hire takes up position left vacant by Andrew Sheppard

EA exec Nick Earl joins Kabam as worldwide studios president

EA Mobile GM Nick Earl has left the publisher to join free-to-play outfit Kabam as president of worldwide studios.

Two independent sources verified the appointment with Venturebeat, though Kabam had declined to comment. His LinkedIn profile also states his new position at Kabam.

Earl will be responsible for overseeing game development at the company, and will report to CEO Kevin Chou. He replaces previous incumbent Andrew Sheppard, who is now COO of Gree International.

Earl isn’t the first EA exec to join Kabam, earlier this year former EA vice president Aaron Loeb joined the company as senior VP of its North American studios.

Last year Kabam doubled its yearly revenue to $360m. In August, the free-to-play publisher also received $120m worth of investment from Chinese mobile commerce firm Alibaba.
