ThreeSF to join the Electronic Arts stable - system presumably used for online games

EA confirms acquisition of social network start-up

There’s consolidation in the air at Silicon Valley – EA has confirmed the previously rumoured story that it has bought social network start-up ThreeSF.

Although no other details were given, it’s thought that ThreeSF’s Rupture technology – which has previously been beta’d to run as a social network for players of games like World of Warcraft and Halo 3.

At the time, it was said EA was paying $30m for the start-up although the acquisition price was not confirmed by EA.
