Latest title based in iconic film franchise could be in development at Visceral Games and Vancouver studio

EA Canada job ads hint at next-gen open world Star Wars game

EA could be working on a new open world Star Wars game, according to reports and a cached job ad.

Internet sleuth Superannuation spotted recent job ads promoting the roles of lead combat designer and animation director which could be for a title based on the hugely popular franchise the publisher recently snapped up gaming rights to.

The listing details a "major new next-gen action game" being developed in Vancouver. Former EA recruiter Zeba Manki also tweeted at the time the lead combat designer role was indeed for a Star Wars Project.

A cached version of the job listing, as unearthed by CVG, also appears to confirm the animation director role was for an open world Star Wars project being developed in British Columbia.

The title is tipped to also be in development at Visceral Games – thought to already be working on a Star Wars title – with the animation role asking for "experience with multi-site development".

EA has already previously revealed that Battlefield developer DICE is currently working on a new Battlefront game, while Bioware was also previously said to be making a title based on the film franchise.
