American McGee's studio to return to Wonderland with console release

EA and Spicy Horse sign publishing deal

EA is to publish the new Spicy Horse game based on the 2000 release American McGee’s Alice.

The original game was released on PC and Mac, and met with critical acclaim that resulted in an ongoing cult status. Due for PC, PS3 and 360, the new game has no confirmed title, and few other details have been confirmed.

Shanghai-based developer Spicy Horse has signed a deal with EA, which published the original game. The independent studio was formed by McGee, who continues to head up the company.

"This new project is a dream come true for me and the fans who’ve kept the Alice flame alive," said McGee, senior creative director at Spicy Horse.

"EA gave us creative latitude and support on the original game which resulted in something beautiful and daring. This trip through the looking glass promises to be even more exciting."

"EA Partners is thrilled to team up with American McGee and Spicy Horse on the next installment of the Alice franchise," added David DeMartini, senior vice president and general manager of EA Partners.
