PlayStation is stepping up its virtual reality plans, with a launch now on the horizon and some massive franchises leading its games library.
During Sony’s E3 2016 press conference, the platform holder announced PlayStation VR would be released in the US this October, and that more than 50 games will be available between then and the end of the year.
A string of trailers then teased some of the headline experiences coming to PlayStation VR, starting with Capcom’s Resident Evil VII. This first-person horror adventure saw players exploring a ruined house, and launches on January 24th, 2017.
Also confirmed was an X-Wing VR Mission for Star Wars Battlefront. This was the VR title teased during EA’s Star Wars sizzle video. It is being developed by UK studio Criterion.
There was even a few surprises in the form of Batman Arkham VR, featuring Mark Hamill as The Joker, and a virtual reality combat experience set in the world of Final Fantasy XV.
New IP will also be on the way, such as sci-fi adventure Impulse Gear.
