E3 2015: Starbreeze unveils VR headset StarVR

Payday developer Starbreeze has unveiled a new virtual reality headset, Project StarVR.

The hardware is built in collaboration with French company InfinitEye, which the publisher has acquired for $2m. The headset is targeted at users with high-end PCs.

StarVR features a 210 degree field of view, a dual 5.5” quad HD panel which can display at a total resolution of 5120×1440 and positional tracking.

The publisher is currently showing off a tech demo of Overkill’s The Walking Dead for the headset at E3.

“Starbreeze’s vision is to become a leader in the entertainment industry by delivering world class experiences,” said Starbreeze CEO Bo Andersson Klint.
