Bethesda has teased a new online service that is designed to link all of its games and its community.
Named Bethesda.net and announced during the firm’s E3 press conference, the new portal “will be at the heart of everything Bethesda will do”, according to PR boss Pete Hines. MCV also reports that it will help the company interact with fans.
Little is known about the full features of the portal, although Bethesda confirmed it would be integrated into The Elder Scrolls Online and feature new fan forums.
It will also power Doom SnapMap, a newly-announced feature of the upcoming shooter that lets players create their own levels and gameplay modes and then share them with friends.
The system sounds similar to EA Origin and Ubisoft’s uPlay, although it’s unclear whether Bethesda.net will also sell the company’s games.
