Leamington Spa-based Blitz has recieved two awards in as many weeks, with co-founder and CEO Philip Oliver named Best Industry Player by Tiga this week, and the company being given a Special Achievement Award by Warwick Council.

This week's nod came as part of Tiga's yearly round of awards presented at its AGM and party. Other winners on the night were Revolution, which took the best PC/console game title for Broken Sword: Angel of Death, Dynamo Games whose wireless version of Championship Manager was named best mbobile game, and Rebellion which picked up two nods - best handheld game for Miami Vice and best developer.

This accolade follows Blitz  winning the Special Achievement in the West Midlands Employer of the Choice Award.

Philip Oliver commented, “I am delighted and honoured to have won this year's Best Player Award, particularly as it is voted for by my competitors and peers in the industry. However, running a successful video game company isn't a one-man job and I'd like to thank everyone at Blitz for their continued hard work and enthusiasm."

On the employment award, Geraldine Randle, HR Manager for Blitz Games added: “We strive to provide the best environment for the best people and won’t be resting on our laurels – we will continue to encourage our staff to challenge themselves and grow both personally and professionally.”
