Insomniac, PopCap and BioWare direct laid-off Vigil and Relic employees to job listings

Developers have come together on Twitter to offer support and job opportunities to the 120 laid off staff at THQ last week.

As reported by The Escapist, the affected employees were referenced in tweets by devs from studios such as BioWare, PopCap, Paradox Games and Insomniac.

80 staff from Vigil Games and 40 from Relic Entertainment have been made redundant, the latest in a string of layoffs by the beleaguered publisher.

“Hey Vigil/Relic folks who are good at server programming. Popcap needs you! Seriously. I need you,” said PopCap senior producer Allen Murray.

"Adding to the job posting stuff for the Vigil/Relic folks; BioWare are looking across multiple studios including Austin,” stated another tweet from BioWare Montreal level designer Gary Stewart.

Insomniac’s official Twitter feed also read: “Relic/Vigil folks - We are Hiring: Animator, Environment Artists, FX Artists, Interface Design, Sr. Gameplay Programmer.”
