The most bankable game studios in the world today, measured by retail sales data
Below is Develop’s monthly breakdown of the world’s most successful games studios, measured by UK revenue at retail, with data provided by GfK Chart-Track.
The Develop Studios Sales Charts will be published on Develop-Online.net’s news pages at the end of each month.
Please note that digital sales are not included in the calculations, nor are retail transactions made outside the UK. The chart is intended to provide a snapshot of the most bankable studios in the world today.

Irrational takes top spot as BioShock Infinite continues to achieve success, with the studio also having spent last month in 2nd place.
A number of new studios have also made their way into the top ten, with Injustice: Gods Among Us developer NetherRealm and Dead Island Riptide outfit Techland taking up second and third place. Trion Worlds has also entered the list in fourth place thanks to transmedia entry Defiance.
The number of independent developers in the top 20 continues to fall, with 16 studios publisher-owned and just four working independently.
The US meanwhile continues its domination of the monthly rankings with 12 developers in the top 20 from the country. Canada and Japan took up three spots each, while Europe was only represented by two studios from the UK and Poland.
